Twinview and bimTEC announce strategic partnership

Twinview and bimTEC have announced the introduction of their digital twin platform across Portugal with bimTEC providing strategic implementation and training. The partnership will allow property owners and operators to improve their business outcomes by reducing costs and carbon whilst improving building user experiences.

Digital twins have been used in sectors such as aerospace and power generation for several years, however, they are now being adopted across the property sector.

bimTEC have recognised the potential in Twinview to assist them in pushing the boundaries of digital twins to their clients. They will be engaging in our in-depth training schedule as well as being part of our development roadmap to provide invaluable feedback. By using our API, bimTEC will map across to an existing FM platform, mirroring the data contained in their existing FM system.

The platform visualises three-dimensional information and includes a facilities management module along with a data capture and surveying app. Building systems generate large amounts of data that is never collected or analysed but with access to machine learning and artificial intelligence, we can predict how a building will operate, thereby optimising its performance in use. As we face a global climate emergency, with buildings being the largest users of energy across the world, we must operate them as efficiently as possible.

Rob Charlton, CEO of Twinview, commented:“We are thrilled to be working in partnership with bimTEC. They have many years of experience in the digital construction field and we are confident they will bring huge value to those who implement Twinview in Portugal.”

This joint workflow between bimTEC and Twinview allows for an ecosystem that is continuously updating and accessible to executives, managers and technicians. This ecosystem facilitates better-informed decision-making with a view to increasing the life cycle of assets, the efficiency of facilities and the comfort and safety of those who use them daily.

As buildings become increasingly sophisticated in an evolving world, the use of Twinview and digital twins will help buildings to become more efficient and safer for those using them.

Gustavo Leal, Managing Partner of bimTEC, said:“Twinview has allowed us to truly integrate BIM models with the daily practice of facilities management, IoT and databases by providing us with an intelligent interface that is flexible and easy to use. Our clients quickly understood this was a game-changer in terms of extending digital design and construction towards the FM phase. With this partnership between bimTEC and Twinview, we are looking forward to progressively engaging more owners, especially the Public Administration as this digital integration is expected to become mandatory for EU countries.”
